2016 Advent Calendar Thingy: Day 12

It's not the new year yet, what're you talking about?
Much like Ground and Steel, Rock is probably one of my most disliked types. It's so samey and blah and boring and almost all the Pokemon part of it are just rock and boulders, yadda yadda, yadda. That's why Amaura really stands out to me; because it's one of the few that tries to break away from that design. Other runner-ups would be Rockruff, Tyrantrum, and Terrakion. Terrakion was actually my favorite Rock-type in Gen 5, Tyrantrum was in Gen 6, and Rockruff is my favorite in Gen 7. The only reason why Amaura is my absolute favorite Rock-type now is because it was actually favorite Ice-type before Alola Ninetales came knocked it outta the park and into the Rock-type rankings. But that's okay, because Amarua is precious. Just look at its eyes, listen to its cry, and the fact that it's an Apatosaurus rivaling a T-Rex (Tyrantrum)?! That's dope as fuck!

Stone Kirby, on the other hand, is not dope as fuck. Aside from Cutter and Sleep, he's probably my least-liked ability in the series. Can't say why, but the weird-ass hat he's been wearing since Return to Dreamland sure didn't help. Aside from turning into statues of other characters getting a little chuckle out of me, it's really boring and hard to use outside of pounding on switches and stuff. Have I mentioned I find the concept of rock/earth elements really boring?
